With the noise and energy that comes with raising three children, creating a welcoming, comfortable and cozy environment was paramount for our clients who remodeled their longtime family home. Soft nature-inspired colors, warm woods, woven textures, and matte finishes were employed to create a calming backdrop to busy family life.

The design process began with reimagining the kitchen’s layout to incorporate the clients’ wishlist, all within its existing footprint. Favorite kitchen features include a dining area with built-in banquette, as well as a dedicated snack and beverage area to keep traffic flow away from food preparation areas.

A similar approach was taken with the remodeled primary bathroom, thoughtfully reconfiguring the space to make better use of the existing footprint.

In addition to the welcoming feel of the home, everything from the built-ins to each child's bedroom furniture was designed with family life in mind. Outlets for laptops and phones at the kitchen banquette, a dedicated snack pantry, and a purpose-built charging drawer for bedtime cell phone check-in were at the top of our clients' wishlist.

Another key element of the project was transforming the spacious backyard to the ultimate outdoor entertaining space-- complete with an outdoor kitchen, outdoor living area for family and friends to lounge, and an outdoor fireplace (as well as sport court and turf field.)

The end result is a home that feels welcoming and communal, expanded and tailor-made for our clients' life.
