This charming Camano cabin was built in the early 1970s on Sunset Beach as a retirement spot for our client's parents. To honor its long history in the family, our client wanted to reimagine the cabin as an extension of his own home next door. The cabin’s close proximity to the water refocused design and construction efforts on reimagining a cabin that could better withstand future water intrusion.
The design pays homage to the cabin’s midcentury bent, while a reworked floor plan opens the home up to sweeping waterfront views. A mix of retro-inspired finishes create a playful and welcoming feel, while incorporating vintage furniture and art from the clients’ collection.
