Located in Seattle’s historic Seward Park neighborhood, this 1904 Craftsman home had been in our clients’ family for over 65 years. The house was starting to show its age, and needed some major structural upgrades and an interior layout that better suited the clients and their three children. Working in partnership with the talented team at Martine Construction Northwest, all three levels of the home received major structural reinforcements, updated plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, and (of course!) a brand-new interior.
We started by created a space plan that incorporated large and open living areas, a main suite with walk in closet and bathroom, a more functional kitchen, a reworked attic space to serve as an easily shareable bathroom for their teenagers, and a mother in law suite. Layering in durable and family-friendly finishes with a timeless aesthetic results in interiors that hearken back to the home’s Craftsman roots, while remaining wonderfully livable.
